Thailand has been synonymous with premium Mulberry silk for centuries — a craft passed down through village artisans who hand-reel, hand-loom and hand-finish every metre of fabric. We source our 22-momme (and, on the Cocoon Mask, 22+ momme) Mulberry silk directly from these small silk villages, working with a specialist atelier that hand-finishes and dispatches every SILENSILK order.

Cutting out the middlemen keeps the craft close to the source — and the price closer to what silk of this weight should honestly cost.

What type of silk is used, and what does momme mean?

100% Mulberry silk on both sides. Momme is silk's weight unit (heavier = denser and more durable). Our masks and pillowcases are 22-momme; the Cocoon Mask uses 22+ momme silk — heavier than most sleep masks on the market.

How does the mask fit and what size head does it suit?

The mask is contoured to sit lightly against your face. The silk-wrapped adjustable strap fits head circumferences from roughly 52 to 62 cm without pressing hard on your eyes or pulling hair.

Is the strap adjustable?

Yes — the strap adjusts smoothly and holds firmly without hair-pulling. No exposed metal or latex against the skin.

How should I clean and care for the mask?

Hand wash in cold water with a silk-safe (pH-neutral) detergent. Do not wring — press excess water out in a towel and lay flat to dry, away from direct sun. Never machine wash, tumble dry or bleach. Store in the silk pouch it ships in. Full guide on the Silk Care page.

Where do orders ship from?

How long does shipping from Thailand take?

Are duties and taxes included?

Sales tax / VAT is shown at checkout where applicable. Duties on international orders may be charged by your local customs authority — please check your country's rules.

Is it suitable for side sleepers?

Yes. The contoured panel stays in place when you roll onto your side, and the silk-wrapped strap sits flat against the head.

Does it contain latex?

No latex. The strap is fabric-and-elastic construction sleeved in silk, with no exposed metal against the skin.
